The Reductionthrough Intervention in Crimes Prevention & Resource Directory

 

The East Coast Gang Investigators Association, Inc. ECGIA is proud to announce its new program called GRIPE Gang Reduction through Intervention, Prevention, and Education. ECGIA has been working to educate the communities and those entrusted to work with our youth about gangs. We should all realize that suppression alone would not win the war on gangs. It must be, we believe, a threefold effort to include Education, Prevention and Suppression.ECGIA, a unique alliance of criminal justice professionals, is dedicated to the promotion and coordination of comprehensive antigang strategies throughout the northeast region of the country. We advocate the sharing of information and strategies, the standardization of antigang training and the establishment of uniform gang definitions. We also provide training to communities with emerging gang problems and have provided input to policy makers, program administrators, businesses and corporate security.
