He said one of the targeted galleries was the tony Hansen Gallery on Bridgeway Avenue in Sausalito, but the gallerys director, Paul Shaker, said today that two thefts two years ago were not related to the current string. They were allegedly done by the same Santa Rosa man, Shaker said, and he was arrested.The Orange County Sheriffs Department released a surveillance video yesterday that shows two men stealing a sculpture valued at about $10,000 from a Mission Viejo art gallery last week.The tape may be the first big break in a case that has been building for the past four years, Hrycyk said.Last week, the thieves snatched a $3,200 sculpture from a gallery in the New Otani Hotel in Los Angeles. Two days later, the Mission Viejo gallery was robbed of a Wilkinson piece. Hrycyk said the thieves also recently took a $45, 000 sculpture in a smash and grab at a San Diego gallery and, on Sept. 12, a $14,500 Wilkinson statue was stolen from the Nese Gallery in Newport Beach.
