FLI is a California company organized in July 2003 to acquire the worldwide intellectual property rights of Crime Prevention Analysis Labs CPAL and to develop CPALs research and technologies into a comprehensive suite of crime analysis and information sharing software products for use by local, county, state, provincial and federal law enforcement agencies across North America.CPAL was formed in 1999 as a spinoff of Simon Fraser Universitys School of Criminology and the associated research of world leading criminologists, Professors Paul and Patricia Brantingham the developers of the science of Environmental Criminology.
